SINGING BOWL
In
Nepal, singing bowls are deeply rooted in Buddhist culture and practices.
Traditionally used in meditation and rituals, these bowls produce harmonic,
resonant sounds that are believed to promote relaxation, healing, and mental
clarity. Made of metal, often with intricate designs, singing bowls are played
by rubbing a mallet around the rim or striking the centre. Their sound is
thought to align the body’s energy centres, enhance mindfulness, and aid in
spiritual healing. Widely used by monks and practitioners, singing bowls hold
significant spiritual value in Nepal’s Buddhist communities. The bowls are
often used in mindfulness practices to enhance focus, deepen relaxation, and
promote a sense of inner peace. In addition, they are used during Buddhist ceremonies
and prayers to help maintain a calming atmosphere and aid in concentration.
