MAH PUJA

Mha Puja, also known as “Self Worship,” is an important Hindu festival celebrated in Nepal by members of the Newari community. Mha Puja is a day for self-reflection and spiritual renewal, where individuals reflect on their own inner qualities and seek to purify their bodies, minds, and souls. During the festival, individuals perform a puja, or worship ritual, in which they offer prayers and make offerings to the Hindu gods and their own ancestors. The cultural significance of Mha Puja in Nepal cannot be overstated. It is a time for self-reflection and spiritual renewal, and is considered an important opportunity for individuals to cleanse their bodies, minds, and souls. It is a day for individuals to reflect on their own inner qualities, such as compassion, wisdom, and purity, and seek to cultivate these qualities within themselves.  It is also a time for families and communities to come together, celebrate their cultural heritage, and reinforce their social bonds.
